“OUR PROGRAMMES DON’T BRING YOU TO A STATE YOU WERE PRE INJURY, THEY BRING YOU TO A GREATER FUNCTIONING STATE”
Whether that’s lifting more, running further, increased endurance or just a more active lifestyle, we’re here to help get you to that place
Helping you feel better
Whether it’s a short term niggle or long term chronic pain, at some point in our lives, something will hurt. Often a bit of a rest, maybe some ice and a bit of patience will resolve the issue. However, there are cases where that pain significantly impacts the ability to function – on a day to day basis and in terms of physical training.
There’s vast evidence supporting rehabilitative interventions helping increase movement and reduce pain. We have a particular interest in rehabilitation training and get huge job satisfaction from helping you return back to a healthy state through exercise. Dennis uses functional range conditioning and is currently the only trainer in St Albans able to offer this particular service.
The goal of any rehabilitation exercise programme is to move the sufferer’s focus away from the pain to achieving greater functional ability – that is, being able to do more of what they want to do.
Using the evidence
An initial consultation is between 60 and 90 minutes and we use some of the same assessment tools as we do for personal training – plus some more rehabilitation specific ones.
Subsequent sessions are generally 60 minutes long and from here, our role is to support, motivate, encourage, and push you forward with the aim of getting you further than you ever thought possible.
We create an exercise programme for your specific needs and also create a plan of how to continue your training once the rehabilitation is complete. Over the years we have worked with numerous clientele with an array of injuries and those who are recovering from surgery. We work with people of all ages and abilities – from competitive athletes to older people who wish to maintain an active lifestyle after surgery or an injury.
All our programmes are progressive – they are not about repeating the same thing each week. We want to help you establish a better functioning system, reduce fear avoidance, and to return to a fully functioning state.
